Gurutz Frades Larralde (born September 14, 1981 in Durango ) is a Spanish triathlete . She is in first place in the best list of Spanish triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Gurutz Frades was the Spanish champion of the long distance triathlon four times in a row from 2011 to 2014.

Ironman 2015 winner

In 2015, she reached third place in the state championship on the long-distance duathlon in February. In June, Gurutz Frades was fourth at the Triathlon World Championships on the long distance in Sweden.
In August she was able to win the first edition of the Ironman Vichy in France.

In May 2017 she was fourth at the Ironman Brasil and with 9:01:00 h she achieved the fastest time of a Spanish athlete on the Ironman distance. In 2017, she qualified for the Ironman Hawaii and the then 36-year-old finished 22nd at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii in October.

In April 2018 Gurutz Frades was sixth at the Ironman South Africa and in July she was seventh at the ITU World Championships on the long-distance triathlon in Denmark.

In April 2019, the then 37-year-old came second at the Ironman South Africa .
