Heidi Sessner (* 16th November 1977 in Bad Mergentheim as Heidi Jesberger ) is a former German duathlete and triathlete . She is nine times German champion and Ironman winner (2012).

Career

Heidi Jesberger grew up in Assamstadt and lives there to this day. She started in competitions for her home club, TSV Assamstadt .

In 1997, at the age of 19, Jesberger was second in the individual competition at the European Triathlon Championships in the youth class, European champion with the team and European junior champion duathlon. In June 2002 she was runner- up in the Allgäu Triathlon in Immenstadt in the middle distance triathlon.

In 2003 in Roth she became German long distance champion in class W25 (women, 25 years). She started three times as a professional at Ironman Hawaii (2003, 2005 and 2010).

In November 2011 she married Jürgen Sessner and has since started as Heidi Sessner . She was mainly active in triathlon competitions over the long or Ironman distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running). In June 2012 she won her first victory on the Ironman distance in Regensburg.

Heidi Sessner ended her professional career after the 2014 season and has worked as a coach ever since.
