Desirée Ficker Berry (born December 9, 1976 in Potomac as Desirée Ficker ) is a former American long-distance runner, duathlete and triathlete . a. a second place at Ironman Hawaii (2006) belongs.

Career

Desirée Ficker was active as a runner and cross-country runner in her youth.

She started triathlon training in early 1999 and qualified for the World Cup in Hawaii that same year, where she was second in her age group at the age of 22.

Professional athlete since 2001

Desirée Ficker has been a professional athlete since 2001.

In 2006 she finished second behind the Australian Michellie Jones at the Ironman World Championships (Ironman Hawaii) . The year 2012 was marked by injuries and in 2013 she declared her active time over.

Private

She has been married to Matthew Berry since November 2012 . In 2013 she had her first child and in 2015 her second child. Desirée Ficker lives with her family in Austin .
