from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Why men do not listen and women poorly park (Original title: Why Men Don't Listen and Women Can't Read Maps ) is a guide by the Australian insurance salesman and communication trainer couple Allan and Barbara Pease from 1998. The book deals with supposedly natural differences between Man and woman and gives advice with the help of "self-tests" how a relationship between the two can be improved. The book was published in 2000 in the Ullstein publishing house and has long been on the non-fiction bestseller list of the SPIEGEL .

criticism

Critics accuse the authors of not proceeding scientifically in writing and researching the book. Many of the data mentioned are said to be simply wrong. The consolidation of gender stereotypes in society could also have a socialization effect and should not be due to biological conditions.

filming

The film production company Constantin Film produced a film adaptation of the book in 2007, directed by Leander Haußmann . The project was funded with 400,000 euros by the Berlin Film Fund. The main roles were played by Benno Fürmann and Jessica Schwarz as well as Uwe Ochsenknecht .
