Marita Meyer-Kainer (born August 23, 1954 in the Nienburg / Weser district ) is a Hamburg CDU politician.

From July 2008 to August 2009 she was Head of Corporate Communications at MEP Management + Equity Partners AG in Hamburg and until 2014 she was Head of Corporate Communications at Technischen Glaswerke Ilmenau (TGI) , which went bankrupt in May 2014 and which has been part of the Hamburg-based investment company since 2006 Management + Equity Partners AG belonged. Marita Meyer-Kainer has been a member of the CDU since 1979. From 2003 to 2005 she was state chairwoman and member of the federal executive committee of the women's union . On April 17, 2009 she was re-elected as the state chairwoman of the Hamburg Women's Union and held this office until Franziska Hoppermann was elected on April 8, 2017. In addition, from 2009 she was one of 20 members of the CDU regional executive committee . In a member survey carried out in May / June 2011, she applied as chairwoman of the Hamburg CDU to be elected by the party congress. According to the result announced on June 5, 2011, she lost 9.8% of the votes cast to two other candidates and the CDU member of the Bundestag, Marcus Weinberg , who scored 36.2%.

From March 26, 2004 to April 2008, she was a member of the Hamburg Parliament (18th electoral term) - she moved in when she was 65th in the state list at the time. Her special focus was on school, women, family and social affairs - and sports politics. She was the specialist spokesperson for her group for social affairs (especially for women). For the CDU she also worked on the school committee and sports committee as well as the special committee for neglected children . She was also represented on the School Development Study Commission .

In 2008 and 2011 she ran again for a citizenship mandate, but unsuccessfully. She was a member of the Deputation for Education and Sport until May 4, 2011 .

Bundestag election 2013

In 2013, Meyer-Kainer applied as a list candidate for the Hamburg CDU for the 2013 Bundestag election , was elected to 7th place on the list by the delegates on March 23, 2013 and ran for a seat in the Bundestag in the election of September 22, 2013, which she missed .

Hamburg state election 2015

On August 23, 2014, she was proposed by the CDU Hamburg's electoral committee for sixth place on the state list for the 2015 Hamburg state elections and ran for a mandate. In the election on February 15, 2015, she received only 0.1% of the vote and was not elected.

Other activities

From 2002 she was the regional contact person for the Reading Foundation in Hamburg .
