Bouzon-Gellenave ( Gascon : Boson e Gelanava ) is a French municipality with 193 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Gers in the region Okzitanien ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mirande .

geography

Bouzon-Gellenave is around 48 kilometers (as the crow flies) west of the city. Also in the west of the Gers department and belongs to the Côtes de Saint-Mont wine-growing region and the Armagnac brandy region . Numerous bodies of water arise, lie or cross the municipal area. Most important are the Midou and Petit Midour rivers . There are also several ponds in the municipality. The community is located away from important national transport connections. The closest bus stop is Cahuzac-sur-Adour on line 940 Tarbes - Mont-de-Marsan.

Bouzon-Gellenave is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bétous in the northeast, Sabazan in the east, Aignan in the southeast, Pouydraguin in the south, Termes-d'Armagnac in the southwest, Fustérouau in the west and sorbets in the northwest.

history

The municipality is historically located within Gascony and belongs to the Bas-Armagnac region . From 1793 to 1801 Bouzon-Gellenave was part of the Nogaro district. From 1793 to 1801, today's district of Mimors belonged to the canton of Plaisance. From 1801 to 2015, all parts of the municipality were within the canton of Aignan . The original community Bouzon 1795/1800 came Loucournau , 1822: (8 inhabitants 1793) Saint-Gô (1821: 143 inhabitants) and 1829 Gellenave (1821: 94 people) and Mimors : add (84 inhabitants in 1821). Since 1829 the municipality has had the double name Bouzon-Gellenave.
