from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve mixed deciduous and alder forest east of Höllinghofen with a size of 34.5  hectares is located east of Höllinghofen in the urban area of Arnsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . It was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 1998 with the Arnsberg landscape plan. The NSG consists of two areas. The Lürwald nature reserve is partially adjacent to the west . In the east, only Landstrasse 732 separates the NSG from the Ruhrtal nature reserve .

Area description

The NSG is the forest area there with beech and oak. A damp forest with alders is also part of the NSG.

Protection purpose

The NSG is to protect the forest area with species inventory. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area was declared a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
