from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wannebach nature reserve with a size of 45.5  hectares is located north or northeast of Niedereimer in the urban area of Arnsberg in the Hochsauerland district . It was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 1998 with the Arnsberg landscape plan. The Breitenbruch-Neuhaus nature reserve is partly directly adjacent to the south and east . The NSG consists of three areas. The federal highway 46 separates two of the partial areas from one another. The NSG belongs to the 7,991 ha FFH area Arnsberg Forest (DE-4514-302).

Area description

In the NSG it is the tub with its floodplain . The floodplain is mostly planted with alders and ash trees. The kingfisher occurs by the stream .

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the tub with its floodplain and the species inventory. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area was declared a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
