Kerbtal nature reserve and mixed deciduous forest in the Mark
The nature reserve Kerbtal and mixed deciduous forest in the Mark with a size of 6.2 hectares is located north of Oelinghausen in the urban area of Arnsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . It was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 1998 with the Arnsberg landscape plan.
Area description
The NSG is the local Kerbtal with floodplain in the area Oelinghauser Bruch and In der Mark . The floodplain is mostly planted with alders and ash trees.
Protection purpose
The NSG is supposed to protect the Kerbtal with species inventory. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area was declared a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
