Nature reserve Unteres Hellefelder Bachtal

The nature reserve Unteres Hellefelder Bachtal with a size of 21.4  hectares is located south of Arnsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . It was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 1998 with the Arnsberg landscape plan. The NSG begins near the Arnsberg development. Landstrasse 839 divides the NSG into three parts. The entire NSG belongs to the FFH area Obereimer Forest Reserve .

Area description

The NSG is the lower brook valley of the Hellefeld brook . The Bachtal is occupied by grassland. The grassland is mostly grazed.

Protection purpose

The NSG should protect the Bachtal with species inventory. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area was declared a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
