Your commission, Father Castell, is a crime series that was produced by Universum Film AG (Ufa) in Munich and Rome and has been broadcast on ZDF since May 8, 2008 . In the title role, Francis Fulton-Smith can be seen as the Vatican's special envoy.

The series “Your Mission, Father Castell” shows criminal cases in which the Church and the police have to work together because the cases could endanger the existence of the Church, but a man of the Catholic Church in Germany is not allowed to investigate alone.

background

Monsignor Simon Castell is a Jesuit who, on a special mandate from the Vatican, has to solve criminal cases all over the world that are always connected with the Church. Father Castell therefore had to acquire a wide variety of skills, such as flying airplanes, opening locked locks and doors, learning self-defense and repairing motorcycles.

Accompanying the broadcast of the 1st season, ZDF showed 4 so-called webisodes , short stories in the channel's own media library , in which the priest's history is told and how he was trained as a special representative.

Each episode is usually 45 minutes. The start of the 3rd season was broadcast in a double episode of 90 minutes because of the extensive scenario.
