Willem Anton Frederik "Kick" Stokhuyzen (born October 7, 1930 in Surabaya , † January 12, 2009 in Voorburg ) was a Dutch television presenter and voice actor .

Career

Stokhuyzen grew up in the Dutch East Indies . During the Second World War he was in a Japanese camp and came to the Netherlands with his parents in late 1945. After graduating from school, he studied economics in Amsterdam. In the student theater he met his future wife Annet Nieuwenhuyzen . He took a job at the computer manufacturer IBM .

A coincidence gave him the opportunity to host the student quiz Tweekamp on the Dutch broadcaster NCRV . Other quiz programs followed such as Herkent u deze melodie? and Herkent u deze tijd? . In the 1970s, he presented the nature quiz Ja, natuurlijk in the NCRV program, which attracted up to 3.5 million viewers a month. After that, he lent his voice to the bear Winnie the Pooh in the cartoons of Walt Disney for a long time .

His employer IBM used his popularity in 1983 in a commercial. Until his retirement he worked for the group as a sales promotion manager. Until 2002 he was a member of the VVD council in his place of residence, Voorburg . In 2006 he hosted the TV Comeback show for the senior broadcaster MAX .

His grave is in the Dutch cemetery Oud Eik en Duinen in The Hague .
