Barbara Wood

Barbara Wood (born January 30, 1947 in Warrington near Liverpool , England) is an American writer.

Life

Wood immigrated to the USA with his parents and older brother and has lived in California since 1954. She attended high school in Los Angeles. After completing this, she enrolled at the University of California at Santa Barbara. After a year she broke off her studies and worked for about 10 years in various professions such as secretary and nurse in a neurosurgical clinic.

In 1976 she submitted her first short story - Hounds and Jackals . The text was rejected. However, the editor referred Wood to a publisher who was looking for talent: Harvey Klinger. Harvey and Wood have been working together ever since. She has been a full-time writer since 1980. She also published under the pen name Kathryn Harvey.

The bestselling author's titles have been translated into over 30 languages. The heroine of almost every work is an emancipated woman. Woods books are set in a wide variety of settings. Many were - scattered across the globe - visited by Barbara, mostly together with her husband George, before the letter was written.
