Marco Serafini

Marco Serafini (born March 15, 1956 in Luxembourg ) is a film and television director .

Life

Serafini was born in Luxembourg and grew up in Esch-sur-Alzette . After graduating from high school, he worked as a film critic for various daily and specialist magazines. From 1975 to 1979 he studied at the University of Television and Film in Munich and worked at the same time as a script, recording and production manager.

He later made a name for himself as the director of over 150 television films and also shot episodes of series such as Schwarz Rot Gold , Anderland , Jolly Joker , Family Heinz Becker , In the Name of the Law , Coast Guard , Police Call 110 and Commissioner Rex . In addition, he made industrial films for Siemens , Mercedes , Henkel and BMW and shot numerous commercials.

In 2016 he made the movie Toy Gun based on the novel "Una spiegazione logica" by Eugenio Tornaghi with the leading roles Luke Allen-Gale, John Hannah , Julian Sands , Sophia Lopez, Federico Castelluccio and Anthony LaPaglia .

Serafini is fluent in Luxembourgish, German, French, Italian and English and lives with his wife, the screenwriter Susanne Hertel, in Munich-Schwabing and in Bracciano near Rome.
