Lili Francks

Lili Francks (* 19 ??; also Red Eagle or Lili Red Eagle Francks ) is a Canadian actress and dancer .

Life and accomplishments

Their ancestors are Native American , from the Cree tribe , and African American . Lili Francks belongs to the Plains Cree First Nation and bears the name Red Eagle . She is married to the Canadian actor, singer and musician Don Francks . Her two children, Cree Summer and Rainbow Sun Francks , are also actors and singers.

In 1967 she sang in the musical Sweet Charity at the Prince of Wales Theater in London's West End with Juliet Prowse in the title role. At the beginning of her career in film, Lili Francks played a minor supporting role in the naturalistic anti-western McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971) by director Robert Altman with Warren Beatty in the tragic lead role. She can also be seen in the crime comedy Dollarrausch ( A Man, a Woman and a Bank ) (1979) with Donald Sutherland and the comedy number 5 does not give up ( Short Circuit 2 ) (1988) with Fisher Stevens . She appeared as a dancer in the film musical Stepping Out (1991) with Liza Minnelli . A smaller role she had in Guilty as Sin ( Guilty as Sin ) (1993) with Rebecca De Mornay and Don Johnson . Other supporting roles followed in the television films Christmas Love ( A Holiday to Remember ) (1995) with Connie Sellecca , Defenders 3 - Against the Law ( The Defenders: Taking the First ) (1998) with Beau Bridges and Flames of Passion - A True Story ( Enslavement: The True Story of Fanny Kemble ) (2000) with Jane Seymour . In the film drama Away From Her ( Away From Her ) (2006) by director and screenwriter Sarah Polley is with Julie Christie to see.

Francks was repeatedly on the stage , e.g. B. in January and February 1992 in The Wonder of Man: A Black Woman's Trip Through the Galaxy by director Djanet Sears. Also in February 1992 she starred in Martha and Elvira directed by Alison Sealy-Smith. The piece Perfect on Paper by author Marcia Johnson was staged by director Mimi Mekler in 2001 at the Toronto Fringe Festival with the participation of Francks. In February 2002 she was in the play The Adventures of a Black Girl in Search of God by writer and director Djanet Sears. This was followed by El Paso by writer Michael Miller and director Philip Akin in October 2002 at the Factory Theater in Toronto . In May 2004 she played in Consecrated Ground by writer George Boyd and director David Collins at the Factory Theater .

In October and November 2005, Francks performed in Toronto at the Tarragon Theater . She played the narrator Althea , the female lead in the play Goodness by author Michael Redhill. Director was Ross Manson. In August 2006 she gave this production at the Traverse Theater in Edinburgh . In March 2007, the US premiere took place in NYC in the off-off Broadway theater Performance Space 122 .
