Juliet Prowse

Juliet Prowse (born September 25, 1936 in Bombay , India , † September 14, 1996 in Los Angeles , California , USA ) was an Anglo-Indian actress .

Life

The daughter of South African parents completed dance training at the age of four and later attended the Royal Academy of Dance . But her dream of becoming a ballerina had already been shattered at the age of 14, because by then she had already exceeded the permitted height. Nevertheless, she remained connected to dance and joined the London Palladium as a choir dancer . She then performed as a dancer in various Parisian nightclubs, where she was discovered by the choreographer Hermes Pan , who hired her for the film Can-Can . In the same year she played alongside Elvis Presley in Café Europa .

Until 1965 Prowse acted in a number of movies. After that, she appeared increasingly in television series and occasionally in television films. Her last appearance in front of the camera was in 1987 in the episode A Fashionable Way to Die of the series Murder is Her Hobby .

In 1994 Prowse was diagnosed with a pancreatic tumor, of which she died in 1996.
