Magic of Bali is a German-Austrian love film from 2005 . The television film is the third part of the film series Das Traumhotel .

action

Franziska and Maria Helmi run a luxury hotel together in Bali . While Franziska would like to sell the hotel to the Siethoff Group and return to Europe, Maria, a gifted cook and chef, cannot imagine ever leaving the hotel. At the request of his aunt Dorothea von Siethoff, the successful hotel manager Markus Winter, accompanied by his daughter Leonie, goes to Bali to take over the hotel. There he falls in love with Maria, who is not privy to the plans of her sister and the Siethoff group. At the same time, the famous Parisian restaurant owner Pierre Fontanne also stays at the hotel. Markus initially considers him to be a competitor in the hotel takeover. Fontanne, however, would like to win Maria as a celebrity chef for his restaurant chain.

Meanwhile, Leonie passes the time in the luxury hotel and gets to know the hotel employee Sowiemon there. Both rave about the singer Alexander, who has an estate in Bali and is expected there. But they don't meet Alexander when they visit the property, but the property manager Jan, who pretends to be Alexander's manager. A holiday flirt develops between Leonie and Jan. Papa Markus doesn't like that at all.

The successful writer Heide Heller has withdrawn to Bali in order to gain some distance from her husband Roland, who has betrayed her. However, Roland, who regrets his misstep, leaves no stone unturned to win Heide back. His often spectacular, but clumsy attempts are initially rejected or ignored by Heide.

After Dorothea von Siethoff also arrived, things gradually smoothed out. The Siethoff Group takes over the hotel, Maria remains the head chef and gives Fontanne a rejection. Heide Heller forgives her husband and Leonie and Jan experience the live performance of the singer Alexander at a big farewell party.

The Dream Hotel - Magic of Bali was filmed in 2004 in Bali and Lombok . Christoph Birkner created the costumes and Walter Dreier designed the production . The film had its television premiere on April 8, 2005 in Das Erste .

TV Spielfilm dismissed the dream hotel episode Magic of Bali with the sentence: "Travel brochure with a framework."
