Franz Buchrieser

Franz Buchrieser (born December 26, 1937 in Graz ) is an Austrian actor and author. He was best known for his leading role in the television series Kottan .

Career

The autodidact did not take on his first major role in the alpine saga , directed by Dieter Berner, until he was 39. Until then he was mainly active as an author “belonging to the Graz group ” for the theater, often retreating to his farm in Styria , which he also ran as a farmer.

From 1977 to 1979 Buchrieser played under the direction of Peter Patzak in three episodes of Kottan determined the character of the major 'Adolf Kottan'. His predecessor in this role was Peter Vogel , Lukas Resetarits Buchrieser's successor in 1980 . Buchrieser was seen a fourth time as Kottan, namely in the feature film Den Tüchtigen belongs to the world (1980/81; book: Helmut Zenker , director: Patzak).

He also worked as 'Gottfried Meck' in Rainer Werner Fassbinder's Döblin film adaptation of Berlin Alexanderplatz as well as in Roland Emmerich's Das Arche-Noah-Prinzip , in Die Fernsehsaga - Eine Styrische TVgeschichte by Julian Pölsler , in Wanted by and with Alfred Dorfer and in Der Bulle and the girl and in Der Skipper , both with Jürgen Prochnow . He also played a leading role in the Austrian film Rosen aus Jericho (1994) about cancer. He appeared in several episodes in the German television series Aufachse as the Austrian trucker and gambler 'Max Kottan'. Buchrieser was also seen in the Austrian series Julia - An Unusual Woman (from 1999, with Christiane Hörbiger) and The Happiness of this Earth (2011).
