occupation

Vorstadtballad is a television film from the crime series Tatort . The contribution produced by Bayerischer Rundfunk is the 583rd episode of the crime scene and was first broadcast on December 12, 2004 in the first program of ARD . The Munich investigator duo Batic and Leitmayr are investigating their 39th case in the milieu of the Munich slaughterhouse district, which is actually known for its traditional restaurants. Desperation over the rape and death of his fiancée turns a young man into a murderer.

action

Late at night, a young couple flees from a rain shower in a pub in the Munich slaughterhouse district in the south-west of Munich. Six months later, a body is found in the basement of the inn. It's about Xaver Ostler, a regular from the small traditional restaurant. Since it is not certain whether he hanged himself or whether it was a murder, Batic and Leitmayr are investigating.

The forensic doctor notes that the dead man was clearly slain and only then hanged, which could be a symbol. The murderer wanted to “present his work perfectly” or to achieve a public punishment, which suggests a highly emotional act.

The victim was known to be very sociable and hard-drinking. The landlord is questioned and cannot remember an argument. However, Ostler had trouble with one of his drinking buddies two years ago, which even ended up in court. Batic and Leitmayr first interview Feri Schegger, who is close to the deceased, and then Fanny Bichler, the deceased's partner. She states that their relationship was often strained. Her daughter Gundi, on the other hand, says she should be happy that she is rid of Xaver, after all, he has "beat up" her often enough. The investigators also look around at Hermann Ganser's premises, as Xaver Ostler often had arguments with him, but had always made up with him. In Ganser's apartment you will find a reference to Schönstett in Lower Bavaria.

While the investigators are looking for clues like pieces of a puzzle and are still stepping on the spot, another murder occurs. Feri Schegger is found slain in Adi Duswald's pub. Batic and Leitmayr suspect a kind of crusade against the three regulars' table brothers and try to protect Hermann Ganser from a possible attack. When Batic and Leitmayr stand in front of his door, he panics, jumps out of the window and has to be taken to the hospital. Carlos' research into the connection from Ganser to Schönstett has meanwhile been successful. At the Raiffeisenbank, which includes the account details that the investigators noticed in Schegger's apartment, colleague Simon Schwendtner has been missing for a few days. So they worry there because he wanted to get married, but the bride hanged herself shortly before the wedding. It turns out that not only was she six months pregnant, but exactly six months ago she was in Munich with her fiancé.

It is clear to the investigators that the solution to the case must be sought here. In this way they find out that after the tragic death of his bride, Simon Schwendtner wanted to bring those who were basically responsible to account. When he and his fiancee were looking for shelter in Duswald's pub in October of the previous year after a thunderstorm, the three regulars' table brothers put sleeping pills in his beer and raped his fiancée. The whole time he thought it was his child who was expecting them. But his bride was sure that the child could not be his, and because she could no longer bear the shame, she hanged herself.

Since it can be assumed that Schwendtner will also take revenge on Duswald, Batic and Leitmayr go to his pub. There he is currently in the process of beating up the landlord, but he has a pistol and shoots Schwendtner in front of the newly arrived Batic and Leitmayr, although Schwendtner could no longer pose a threat to him.

Reviews

The reviews of this crime scene are very positive. Tilmann P. Gangloff from tittelbach.tv praises this crime scene and writes: "Even if you don't understand everything about the white sausage equator at this" crime scene "from Munich -" suburban ballad "is a real treat for friends of white and blue milieus. Apparently well-behaved honest men suddenly become beasts, one unicum in leather chases the next - and this film by Martin Enlen is on the verge of parody! "

At Moviesection.de, Thomas Ays awards four out of five possible stars and says: “Phew! But then screenwriter Robert Hältner came up with a particularly nasty case, the solution of which is difficult to come up with. The end, in particular, has a long-lasting effect, which means that one is happy to forgive the sometimes lengthy staging. In terms of performance, the young Anna Brüggemann as Gundi Bichler stands out, and she is particularly remembered during the emotional scenes. Michael Tregor as Feri Schegger also gets a lot out of his role. "

The critics of the television magazine TV-Spielfilm think this episode is a “bitter look at the little people milieu between sadness and dreams. [Conclusion:] Suburban thriller without the wisdom of the regulars. "

"The successful 65th BR" crime scene "shows much more than the resolution of a criminal case. The oppressive, but at times surprisingly funny, film plunges deep into the suburban environment and portrays people who are resigned and fearful and - with the exception of Gundi - have long since buried their dream of a better life.
