Kainsmale is a German television thriller by Erwin Keusch from 1992. It was created as the 262nd episode of the crime series Tatort and is the fourth with Miroslav Nemec and Udo Wachtveitl as Munich investigators Batic and Leitmayr .

action

Ivo Batic has received a visit from his aunts from Zagreb and goes with the family, Franz Leitmayr and his girlfriend Susanne picnic by the river. There is a quarrel between Leitmayr and Susanne over a minor matter, and the young woman leaves, angry. She finds consolation in the construction worker Burkhard, known as Bulli, whom she takes home and with whom she spends the night. Bulli was at the river with his colleagues Hannes Gilhoff and Bernd Heise and had argued with Bernd. Bernd and Hannes drive away alone. Hannes gets drunk Bernd to get out of the car and walk down the street with his eyes closed to prove that he's not too drunk to drive. Bernd starts to walk and Hannes runs him over cold. He doesn't know that a prostitute was watching the scene.

The next morning, Bernd's body is found. Batic and Leitmayr quickly realize that it must be a murder. You learn that the East German Bernd worked as a temporary worker in construction in Munich, despite his doctorate in philosophy. Meanwhile, Bulli has looked in vain for Bernd on the construction site and is shocked when he hears from Leitmayr that his best friend has died. Bulli searches Bernd's suitcase, which Hannes had previously tampered with, but who did not know the code for the combination lock. In the suitcase, Bulli finds an envelope with documents from which it emerges that the construction site manager Klaus Bräuninger previously held an important position in the Stasi as Hans-Georg Müller . Bulli goes to Susanne and tells her that he knows who killed Bernd. However, he does not tell her when she makes it clear that she would not keep her knowledge to herself. When Leitmayr appears and introduces himself as Susanne's friend, Bulli flees. He goes to Bräuninger's hotel and accuses him of murdering Bernd. He is so furious that he almost strangles Bräuninger. Suddenly Hannes appears and shows the Bulli the documents incriminating Bräuninger. Hannes is astonished and maneuvers Bräuninger to the car with the Bulli, allegedly in order to bring the boss to his work colleagues and thus his fair judgment. Hannes Bulli knocks down on the car.

When he escaped from Susanne's apartment, Bulli had forgotten his key. Susanne brings the car to the construction site the next day, but Bulli is not there. A missing person report will be posted soon. The investigators find Bulli's body and Susanne vows to find the perpetrator on her own. Since it becomes clear that the killer can be found on the construction site, Leitmayr infiltrates the construction site as an undercover agent. He tries to win Hannes' trust. Batic was able to track down the prostitute who saw Bernd's murder. It can provide information for a phantom image. Meanwhile, Susanne has appeared on her own at the construction site, does not let Leitmayr drive her away, and at the end she makes an appointment with Hannes for the evening. When Leitmayr comes back to the police station, he recognizes Hannes in the phantom image. He immediately took up a post in front of Susanne's apartment. Only late is she brought home completely drunk by Hannes. Little does she suspect that Hannes secretly searched her wallet in the pub and found a photo of her and Leitmayr. However, the investigators assume that Hannes knows about Leitmayr's true identity. In turn, you have now found out that the real Hannes Gilhoff died in 1986, and that the fake Hannes is actually called Günter Kowalski. Until 1990 he was responsible for planning terrorist attacks in the FRG at the Stasi and worked closely with Hans-Georg Müller.

The next day, Hannes Leitmayr saved from an accident on the construction site. In the evening they go out for a drink and Leitmayr confesses to Hannes, apparently drunk, that he is a police officer. He was desperate because Susanne knew who killed Bernd, she had received documents from Bulli, but did not give them out. On the same day, Hannes goes to see Susanne with Bräuninger, who in the meantime has been instructed by Batic and equipped with a transmitter. Batic hides in the apartment, but Susanne cannot pretend to be Hannes for long. He recognizes the situation and threatens Susanne with a gun. He forces Batic to come out of hiding and locks him in the bathroom. He then tries to escape with Susanne as a hostage, but is stopped in front of the house by the police who have arrived. While escaping back into the house, he is overwhelmed by Batic when he tries to plunge into the depths in the hallway, because he believes he no longer has any prospects for the future with the "Kainsmal Stasi". Hannes and Bräuninger are led away. In the end, Susanne and Leitmayr realize that they will not get back together.
