Aida is a television film from the crime series Tatort . The report produced by Bayerischer Rundfunk is the 337th episode of the crime scene and was first broadcast on July 7, 1996 on ARD's first program. The Munich investigator duo Batic and Leitmayr are investigating their 13th case.

Shortly before the premiere of Verdi's opera Aida , the despotic conductor Hubert Kramitz takes on the whole ensemble during a rehearsal. In anticipation of his soprano Anita Kaden, he does not pay attention to who is entering his room when playing the piano after the rehearsal. Suddenly blood splatters on the keyboard .
The two chief inspectors Batic and Leitmayr didn't arrive until 7 hours later, as no one had dared to enter the room beforehand. The investigations into the exalted staff turn out to be quite laborious, especially since both commissioners have a cold and the opera staff reacts dismissively. The director informs Batic that the second flautist, Professor Alfred Rücker, has disappeared since the rehearsal. Meanwhile, a razor is found in the soprano's room. Initial analyzes indicate similarities. Then Professor Rücker gets in touch and can plausibly explain his absence.
The star tenor Luigi Bassano died as a result of a cat allergy. The cat must have scratched the perpetrator violently during the transport in Bassano's cloakroom. Kaden willingly shows the soulful Batic her bare upper body to free him from his doubts. When Batic can think more clearly again, he visits the mezzo-soprano Ines Liens and confuses her by saying that Bassano's death was not an accident. She promptly runs into the cloakroom of her young lover, Harald Landau, the "new" Radame, and sees the scratch marks on her forearm. Without any action on the part of the commissioners, the perpetrator reveals himself at the dress rehearsal.

The film was shot in the Teatro Grande in Brescia and in Munich. In the end credits, however, thanks are given to the Košice opera .
Audience rating
The first broadcast of Aida on July 7, 1996 was seen by 7.22 million viewers in Germany and achieved a market share of 24.0%.
