Felix von Manteuffel (born May 6, 1945 in Bayrischzell , actually Friedrich Karl Baron von Manteuffel-Szoege ) is a German actor .

life and work

Manteuffel's ancestors were Baltic Germans . From 1967 to 1970 he attended the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. During his training he made his debut at the Münchner Kammerspiele in 1969 as a second coolie in Bertolt Brecht's The Exception and the Rule . From 1970 to 1972 an engagement at the Ulm Theater followed . His roles there included Ferdinand in Cabal and Love and the title character in Danton's Death .

From 1972 to 1984 he was a member of the ensemble of the Münchner Kammerspiele. His roles included Spitta in Die Ratten (1972), Moritz Stiefel in Spring Awakening (1976), Baron in Nachtasyl (1976), Walter Schwarz in Lulu (1977/78), Trepljow in Die Möwe (1978), Wetter vom Strahl in Das Käthchen von Heilbronn (1979/80), Camille in Dantons Tod (1980), Pylades in Iphigenie auf Tauris (1981), Leonhard in Maria Magdalena (1981), Touchstone in As You Like It (1982) and the title role in Carl Sternheims The Snob (1983).

He also appeared in several radio plays, including 1981/82 in the German version of Anhalter durch die Galaxis .

From 1984 to 2004 von Manteuffel worked as a freelancer. His guest roles included Philipp the Good in Die Jungfrau von Orléans (1985 at the Schauspiel Köln ), Tellheim in Minna von Barnhelm (1984/85 at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg), Malthus in Tankred Dorst's Die Schattenlinie (1995 at the Bavarian State Theater ) and Diderot in Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt's Free Spirit (1997).

At the same time he intensified his work for film and television and appeared in several episodes of the crime series Tatort . In the two-parter In the Shadow of Power , he embodied Walter Scheel .

In 1976 he was awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize with silver for talking and letting talk (together with Wolfgang Glück , Michail Füting and Lida Winiewicz ).

From 2004 onwards Felix von Manteuffel was engaged at the Schauspiel Frankfurt . In 2015 he was on stage at the Berliner Theater am Kurfürstendamm in Eine Familie - August: Osage County after Tracy Letts .

He has been married to actress Leslie Malton since 1995 . The actor Florian von Manteuffel (* 1973 in Munich) comes from an earlier relationship .
