André Jung (born December 13, 1953 in Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourg actor with a Swiss-German career.

Life

From 1973 to 1976 Jung attended the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts . He then worked on various stages, in particular at the Theater Basel (1988–1993), at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg (1993–2000) and at the Schauspielhaus Zürich (2000–2004). From 2004 to 2015 he played in the ensemble of the Münchner Kammerspiele .

In addition to his theater work, Jung also regularly impersonates television and film roles . He also appeared in over 50 radio plays, most recently in perec / grinations of the Saarland broadcasting company (SR). In addition, he speaks to Chief Inspector Michel Paquet in the episodes of ARD Radio Tatort produced by the SR .

In the literary film The Diary of Anne Frank , which was shot in spring 2015 and was released in cinemas on March 3, 2016, Jung plays Hermann van Pels , who is named in the film as in the diary Hans van Daan.

Jung was named Actor of the Year by Theater heute in 1981 and 2002 , and in 2000 he received the Rita Tanck Glaser Acting Prize from the Hamburg Cultural Foundation. He received the Austrian Nestroy Theater Prize in 2009 for the impersonation of Samuel Beckett's Krapp in The Last Volume at the Salzburg Festival . In 2018 he received the Gertrud-Eysoldt-Ring for his role as narrator in Georg Büchner's Lenz at the Schauspielhaus Zürich / Schiffbau.

Jung has 2 children and now lives in Munich and Luxembourg, where he lives in his grandmother's house from 1702, in whose neighboring house he grew up.
