After his stroke, she is there around the clock for the bedridden 70-year-old, also helps his wife Elsa, and her youngest son Gregi has an eye on Wanda. The work is poorly paid, but the single mother Wanda needs the money for her own family in Poland. She comes a few times a year, works a few months, and returns to her village to look after her two teenage sons.
So Wanda gets an intimate insight into the family life of the Wegmeister-Gloors. Conversely, Wanda brings a breath of fresh air into the family.
