Reviews

“At the center of the episodic film, in which many characters find space without advancing the plot, is the child's relationship to his strict father, whose sometimes over-harsh upbringing measures show less cruelty than they show the terrifying normality of the time. "

“The autobiographical tale of an adolescent in a society shaped by Catholicism and the tabooing of the National Socialist past impresses with the consistently well-captured time color and the excellent cast crew. Ben Hoscheit, the novelist's son, shines in the leading role of Norbi. "
