Pol Cruchten (born July 30, 1963 in Pétange , † July 2, 2019 in La Rochelle ) was a Luxembourg film director , screenwriter and producer .

Pol Cruchten has always been a cinema enthusiast and helped found the Ciné-Club des Jeunes de la Ville de Luxembourg in 1978.

He attended the École supérieure d'études cinématographiques (ESEC) in Paris and studied directing. He then worked as a film correspondent for various newspapers and radio stations. In 1990 he mainly worked for Videopress , for which he also shot the film Hochzäitsnuecht . After the success of this film, he founded his own production company in Luxembourg, the Red Lion, which mainly produced short films and which has won various film prizes. In 2003 Cruchten shot the film Boys on the Run with Ron Perlman in a leading role in the USA .
