content

The story is told from the perspective of Bruno Küssling, a meteorologist from Hamburg . He has decided to fly to Las Vegas with his daughter Carolin, his old school friend Manfred and his girlfriend Ingeborg . Shortly before departure, Manfred cancels his vacation because of mumps . Then Marianne, Bruno's ex-wife, appears. She has taken over the trip that has become free and accompanies Bruno and their daughter. Bruno is now on vacation with three women.

To make matters worse, the departure is delayed; so the strange quartet in New York missed the connecting flight to Los Angeles , but then finally arrives there. The joy of the rental car only lasts for a short time, as Bruno is involved in a rear-end collision and has to pay for the damage. This also means the start of a bus trip across the western United States , stopping in Los Angeles, San Francisco , Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon , where the German travel company in tourist pitfalls occurs and the occurrence of the "typical Germans" abroad parodies is . During the remaining days, Bruno and Ingeborg fall in love. In Las Vegas, however, she accidentally marries the fellow traveler who was constantly after Marianne during the trip. In addition, Bruno finds out that he is still attached to his divorced wife.

In addition, the history of the failure of the kissing marriage is shown in flashbacks. In addition, the thoughts of Bruno Küssling are often presented through a transfer to the Wild West. For example, scenes are shown in which he interacts with typically American characters such as Indians, cowboys or gang bosses. In this way the viewer gets a better picture of the protagonist's thoughts and the title Wilder West inclusive is taken up again.

At the end of the trip, after numerous confusions of love, a tragic death and many unforgettable experiences, all fellow travelers part again.
