Benno Hattesen (born September 22, 1906 in Flensburg ; † June 30, 1993 in Hanover ) was a German actor , director and theater manager .

Life

Hattesen, who had a doctorate in German studies, was hired as senior director at the Bielefeld Theater in the 1947/48 season, which he helped to achieve national recognition. In 1959 he took up a position as director of the Flensburg City Theater, where he had already made the first post-war production in 1949 with Shakespeare's Was ihr wollt . Despite artistic success, Hattesen was unable to secure long-term financial security, so that in 1974 the stage was combined with the theaters in Rendsburg and Schleswig to form the Schleswig-Holstein State Theater . This also ended Hattesen's fifteen-year directorship. He later worked at the St. Pauli Theater in Hamburg, where he staged an adaptation of Wilfried Wroost's Schwank Die Kartenlegerin with Heidi Kabel in the title role in 1982 , a recording of which was also broadcast on television.

Occasionally, Hattesen also appeared in television productions, such as in the Hans Fallada film adaptation of farmers, bigwigs and bombs, as well as the multi-part series Wilder West including and Der große Bellheim , directed by Dieter Wedel . In addition, he made guest appearances in series such as SOKO 5113 . In 1989 he took over the role of “Prof. Schnittker ”in the ZDF series Der Landarzt .
