A television film from the crime series Tatort is out of action . The contribution produced by Bayerischer Rundfunk and directed by Friedemann Fromm is the 630th episode of the crime scene and was first broadcast on May 7, 2006 in the first program of ARD . The Munich investigator duo Batic and Leitmayr is investigating its 43rd case.
action
Ivo Batic, Franz Leitmayr and Carlo Menzinger, disguised as waiters, lie in wait in the restaurant of the Munich Olympic Tower for the former nurse Johannes Peter Peschen, who is said to have killed twelve patients. After the wanted person actually arrives, the inspectors arrest him, but Peschen manages to get Leitmayr under his control and pull him into the elevator. There he gives him a syringe that he had hidden in the elevator when he arrived. When the elevator gets stuck at a great height, Leitmayr starts a race against time. He can describe his situation to the emergency services via the elevator's telephone system, but the connection is cut off shortly afterwards. Batic and Menzinger try desperately to get close to their colleague and are convinced that Peschen planned this action in cold blood and lured Leitmayr with the anonymous call. In a recent press conference, the commissioner publicly expressed his disapproval of Peschen as the angel of death , whereupon he now felt compelled to teach the commissioner a lesson. With this campaign he wants to show him what pain means and how desperate patients are who find themselves in such a hopeless situation due to illness and only long for death.
At first, Batic and Menzinger do not manage to free their colleagues directly, they have to stand by and watch until the lift emergency service finally arrives. However, they find out that Peschen is terminally ill with cancer and has nothing more to lose. By the time they can finally get to Leitmayr in the elevator, Peschen has already corrected himself and administered a lethal dose of painkillers.

reception
criticism
“Friedemann Fromm belongs to the generation of creative brain workers on German television. Time and again he reconciles quality and quota as well as crime genre and social criticism in his films. With his fourth Bayern “Tatort”, an exciting thriller about lethal injections and nursing care emergency, he has succeeded in an extraordinary crime thriller. "
