Bernd Burgemeister

Bernd Burgemeister (born January 1, 1945 in Hamburg ; † June 21, 2008 in Greece) was a German film producer.

Burgemeister initially worked between 1973 and 1977 as an assistant to the ZDF program director. In 1978 he took over the production company TV60Filmproduktion from Claus Hardt, the founder of the company (1960) , the films such as Maria's Last Journey , The Last Hope , the ZDF series Lawyer Abel and Das Duo as well as the Oscar-nominated Sophie Scholl with his subsidiary Goldkind Filmproduktion - The last few days produced. The ZDF Christmas series " Timm Thaler ", " Silas ", " Jack Holborn " and " Anna " were also produced by him.

Burgemeister himself produced around 70 films and was chairman of the Federal Association of German TV Producers from 1998.

The Bernd Burgemeister TV Prize has been named after him since 2009 , an award for television producers endowed with 25,000 euros, which is presented annually at the Munich Film Festival for the best TV film.

His son Sven Burgemeister is also a television producer.
