Eberhard Witt
Eberhard Witt (born March 14, 1945 in Stralsund ) is a German journalist, director and general manager .
After completing school in Baden-Baden and Hamburg , Witt completed a journalistic training with the "Harburg Ads and News". In 1974 he was engaged as artistic director of the Small House at Hamburg's Thalia Theater . In 1980 he followed Boy Gobert , who became director of the Staatliche Schauspielbühnen Berlin , to Berlin, where he became its artistic director.
In 1986 he moved with Gobert and Ernst Wendt to the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna. After Gobert's sudden death in the same year, Witt went to the United Theater in Vienna as artistic director . In April 1988 he became director of the Lower Saxony State Theater in Hanover . From 1993 to 2001 he was director of the Bavarian State Theater in Munich .
