Sonja Anders

Sonja Anders (* 1965 in Hamburg ) is a German chief dramaturge .

Life

Anders studied German language and literature in her hometown and was hired by the Kulturfabrik Kampnagel for the first dramaturgies. From 1990 she worked as an assistant dramaturge and finally as a dramaturge at the Hamburger Schauspielhaus . In 1993 she was hired by Friedrich Schirmer as a dramaturge at the State Theater in Stuttgart . In 2000 she returned to Hamburg as dramaturge at the Thalia Theater , where she took over the position of chief dramaturge from the 2005/06 season. From the 2009/10 season to the 2017/18 season, Anders was chief dramaturge and deputy artistic director at the Deutsches Theater Berlin . She works regularly, sometimes for many years, with the directors Stephan Kimmig , Martin Kušej , Nicolas Stemann and Michael Thalheimer .

She was engaged three times at the Salzburg Festival : in 2005 for Kimmig's Penthesilea , a co-production with the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, in 2013 for Thalheimer's Jungfrau von Orleans and in 2015 for Kimmig's Clavigo , both co-productions with the Deutsches Theater Berlin .

In 2013, Anders was appointed to the jury for the Dramatist Prize of the German Business Culture Association in the BDI, and in 2014 to the jury of the Berlin Literature Prize .

Since the 2019/2020 season, Sonja Anders has been artistic director at Schauspiel Hannover .

Sonja Anders is a member of the theater / dance advisory board of the Goethe Institute, the cultural council of the state capital of Hanover and the board of the Hanover Circle of Friends .
