Kurt Ehrhardt
Kurt Ehrhardt (born February 23, 1900 in Frankfurt am Main , † April 25, 1971 in Hanover ) was a German theater and film actor, director and general manager .
Life
Ehrhardt received his training at the Frankfurt drama school with Carl Ebert . He then worked as an actor at the United Theaters in Barmen-Elberfeld , in Oberhausen and at the Lobe Theater in Breslau , where he made his directorial debut. From 1935 to 1940 he was engaged at the Essen Theater, where he played Mephisto in Goethe's Faust for the first time . From 1940 to 1943 he worked at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg , from 1943 at the Hanover Theater .
In 1945 he became acting director of the Hanover Theater . In 1946 he was promoted to senior director and theater director, in 1947 he was promoted to acting director and in 1948 to chief director. From 1953 to 1965 he was general manager of the Hanover Theater. Since 1951 he has staged numerous operas in the style of a musical theater inspired by the score . The theater work of his era is called the Ballhof style after the Ballhof venue .
In the film Affaire Blum played Ehrhardt, who was considered an excellent character actor , whom Dr. Blum. Until shortly before his death he played in numerous television films. He was buried in the Engesohde city cemetery in Hanover .
