action

He's a successful cop, rough, disaffected, and lonely. She is 17 and gets into trouble with her clique. When he tries to come to her aid, she takes his gun and car keys from him and wants to disappear across the border. With the service weapon the policeman would be out of his job. So he has to find her and tries to sort it out on his own. Through his methods, however, he is getting more and more into the gray area between law and statute. Eventually both become hunted; realizing that they have fallen in love. An escape follows without a plan or goal, until the girl is accidentally hit by a bullet and dies. Tired of life after her death, he lets his former colleagues shoot him defenseless.

criticism

“The film narrated its plot using genre images without any claim to reality: a fast-paced, garish, taciturn crime cinema borrowed from Walter Hill's films . What the carefully calculated staging lacks is the "animation" of its people and their history. "

Film music

The title track Golden Feeling comes from the band Alphaville and was the B-side of the single The Jet Set (1985). In the film, also the track is The Only One of George Kranz heard.
