Eduard Erne

Eduard Erne (* 1958 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian film director, actor and television journalist who lives and works in Germany and Switzerland .

Life

After graduating from high school, Eduard Erne attended the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna , where he trained as an actor and director. From 1980 to 1983 he studied directing at the Mozarteum Salzburg and then worked as an actor and director at the Schauspielhaus (Vienna) and at the Theater am Turm in Frankfurt am Main .

In the 1980s he was an actor in various film and television productions, including Peter Keglevic's The Bull and the Girl , as well as in the crime scene and the crime series Derrick . Since the 1990s he has emerged more and more as a director of documentaries, including Totschweigen (screenplay and direction with Margareta Heinrich 1990–1994), Indiras Tagebuch (2000) and Vogelmenschen (2006). In 1995 and 1996 Erne was on the jury of Prix ​​Europa - European TV Program of the Year . From 1997 to 1999 he worked as an author and editor for the political magazine Tuesday - the strong piece of the week on Hessischer Rundfunk . In 1999 and 2003 Erne was visiting professor at the Institute for Applied Theater Studies at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen .

Eduard Erne has been cultural editor for Swiss television since 2007 .
