Pavel Landovský
Pavel Landovský (born September 11, 1936 in Německý Brod , † October 10, 2014 in Kytín ) was a Czech actor, playwright and director.
Life
Landovský studied at the theater faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU) and then played on regional theaters in Teplice , Šumperk , Klatovy and Pardubice . From 1965 he was an ensemble member of the Prague theater Činoherní klub in Ve Smečkách not far from Wenceslas Square , which was founded in the same year by Ladislav Smoček and Jaroslav Vostrý . He wrote his first piece Hodinový hoteliér especially for the Činoherní ; it was premiered there on May 11, 1969, directed by Evald Schorm .
In 1971 he was banned from playing film and television; his scenes in Jaroslav Dudek's television series Taková normalní rodinka (1971) were then cut out and re-shot with Jaroslav Moučka .
At the end of 1976, Landovský was one of the initiators of the Charter 77 petition and, along with Václav Havel and Ludvík Vaculík, was one of the three official spokesmen for the resulting civil rights movement. He was then banned from appearing in the theater and emigrated to Austria , where he became a member of the Burgtheater ensemble in Vienna in 1978 and participated in productions by Peter Zadek , among other things . Only after the Velvet Revolution was he able to return to Prague in 1989 and appear again in the Činoherní klub in January 1990 , when the piece Audience written 16 years earlier by his friend Václav Havel (who had recently been elected president), directed by Jiří Menzel, had its Czech premiere there could celebrate.
