The Skipper (English-language alternative title: Kill Cruise ) is a German thriller from 1990 . Directed by Peter Keglevic , who also wrote the script.

action

After an accident on the high seas in which his friend Paul dies, the German skipper ends up with his yacht Bella Donna in Gibraltar . Left by his wife, who had an affair with the failed friend, he ekes out his days between the yacht and the California bar .

The two British women Su and Lou are also stranded, waiting for a crossing with the destination Barbados. You earn pocket money in "California" as singers. One evening after Lou does a spontaneous striptease in the bar, the three of them find each other. In the intoxication, the skipper agrees to take her to the West Indies .

After a short time of harmony, the two women prove to be unsuitable for sea and take the trip lightly. Su, who wants to approach the skipper, is rebuffed, starts to provoke the skipper and searches his private belongings. She reads his wife's letters and based on them and the fact that there are still numerous things from her on board, she theorises that the skipper must have murdered his wife. When she shares her findings with Lou, she does not react in her favor, as an affair has developed between Lou and the skipper.

The situation is exacerbated by the fact that while Lou is bathing in the sea with the skipper, Su suddenly pulls in the ladder and appears to be leaving the boat. Sus's intrigues finally culminate in her finding and hiding supposedly illegal drugs. However, the skipper is diabetic, which he has so far kept secret. Su refuses to give out the insulin until the skipper has gone to an island to drop it off. The skipper throws Su overboard and drags her behind the boat on a line for a while to force the insulin to be released. After he has brought Su back onto the yacht, he retires to his cabin.

When the skipper threatens to fall into a diabetic coma , Lou hands him the medicines that Su is hiding. During the subsequent intercourse, the two are observed by Su. After a short period of deceptive harmony, Lou surprisingly kills the skipper with a harpoon . She tells the disturbed Su that she did it for her and out of love for her and that everything can now be as it was before. In addition, the killing was only the logical consequence of Su's own demands. But when Su reacts hysterically, Lou suffocates her with a pillow.

After a fade out it can be read that the yacht Bella Donna was stranded on a Caribbean island three weeks later, but no one was on board.
