The alpine saga

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Alpensaga is a 6-part television drama by Peter Turrini and Wilhelm Pevny . It was filmed from 1976 to 1980 under the direction of Dieter Berner and deals with the problems of the rural population from 1900 to 1945. In doing so, it breaks with the clichéd portrayal of rural life as it was common in traditional Heimatfilm . A critical presentation of the social structures in rural areas was just as important to the two authors as the presentation of the effects of the political crises in the first half of the 20th century on a small village in Upper Austria . The music for the series was composed by Peer Raben .
