Joe Trummer

Josef "Joe" Trummer (born March 12, 1922 in Vienna ; † January 6, 2007 there ) was an Austrian actor .

Life

Trummer's film career began in the 1950s, where he took part in various Austrian post-war productions, including the crime film Flucht ins Schilf . In 1976 he had a minor role in Rudolf Prack 's last feature film, Jesus von Ottakring . In 1978, he played the small role of a Czech Jew in the US miniseries Holocaust - The Story of the White Family .

In 1963 he worked for the Austrian Radio in a smaller role in a television production of the opera singspiel Der Musikmeister ( Il maestro di musica ) by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi alongside Fritz Wunderlich , Graziella Sciutti and Walter Berry . In the 1970s, he became known on television , especially as a Traxler in the Austrian cult series Ein echter Wiener does not go under .

Trummer also worked repeatedly as a theater actor . He was seen regularly as an actor in productions on the Vienna Löwinger stage . There he played in the comedies Der Glückelefant (1968) and Die Mayfly (1969), among others . In 1979 he also worked there in the folk play Double holds worse . In 1981 an appearance in the popular comedy The Three Village Saints followed . Numerous performances have been recorded for television by the Austrian radio . In 1970 he appeared at the Vienna Theater der Courage in the play Wind in the Branches of Sassafras by René de Obaldia ; the performance was also recorded for television by Austrian radio.

Trummer has appeared in radio plays on ORF several times . In 1970 he took over the newspaper crier in the radio play Amok by Hans Krendlesberger . In 1981 he was heard in an ORF radio production in the dialect radio play Survey of a Prehistory by Bernd Hackländer .

He was buried in the Baumgartner Friedhof (group E1, number 24) in Vienna .
