Therese Affolter

Therese Affolter (born November 28, 1951 in Bern ) is a Swiss actress .

Life

From 1971 to 1974 she studied acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. In 1974 she got an engagement at the Staatstheater Stuttgart and impressed here in 1977 as Gretchen in Claus Peymann's Faust production. In 1979 she came to the Schauspielhaus Bochum , where she took on the title role in Die heilige Johanna der Schlachthöfe in the same year .

From 1980 to 1983 she worked at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, from 1983 to 1985 at the Residenztheater in Munich, 1985 at the Schauspielhaus Cologne and 1985 to 1987 at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg.

From 1987 to 1999 Therese Affolter was part of the ensemble of the Vienna Burgtheater . There she played the housemaid Herta in the world premiere of Thomas Bernhard's Heldenplatz in 1988 and Mother Courage in the 1998 production by Konstanze Lauterbach . In 2000 she went to the Berliner Ensemble under Peymann, with whom she worked particularly often, and stayed there until 2006. She also played as a guest at the Schaubühne on Lehniner Platz .

In 2006 Therese Affolter made guest appearances at the Zimmertheater Tübingen and the Schauspielhaus Graz , and in the 2006/07 season she was seen at the Volkstheater Vienna .

Although she mainly works in the theater, Therese Affolter has also worked in several films. In 1986 she played Ulrike Meinhof in Reinhard Hauff's film Stammheim . She is also active with audio books and poetry readings.
