The dead from Lake Constance - family secret is a German-Austrian ORF / ZDF - TV movie directed by Andreas Linke from the year 2015 . This is the second part of the crime series Die Toten vom Bodensee . It was first broadcast on ORF on March 4, 2015 and on ZDF on March 16, 2015.
action
The Austrian policewoman Hannah Zeiler and her German colleague Micha Oberländer are called to work for a violent crime. The Tatort, a forester's house, is well known in Oberländer because he was in a relationship with Verena, the forester's daughter, and spent part of his youth here. The walls and floors of the house are smeared with blood, forester Sepp Garchinger is seriously injured and found foaming in his bedroom. A severed arm and 100,000 euros in cash are also found. Garchinger's runaway Doberman and a truck from the Fitzner recycling company parked in front of the forester's lodge and reported as stolen pose further puzzles . The victim, who died soon after in the hospital, had rabies . Sepp Garchinger's son, Oliver, died of lung cancer six weeks earlier .
The police start a search for the possibly also rabid Doberman Pinscher and the person who is missing the severed arm. The junior boss of the recycling company, Hannes Fitzner, identifies the arm as that of his father, Ferdinand "Ferdy" Fitzner, on the basis of the wristwatch and a scar. Fitzner senior is finally found dead in an animal trap in the forest . A number saved on his phone leads to a Hungarian hazardous waste dump . Oberländer suspects that Sepp Garchinger was infected with rabies by his Doberman Pinscher and that he had hit Ferdy Fitzner with an ax in his madness. The case seems almost resolved, victims, perpetrators, murder weapon and with rabies also a motive are known. It remains unclear where the 100,000 euros at Garchinger came from and what Fitzner senior wanted with a hazardous goods transporter at Garchinger.
Oliver Garchinger's documents include a purchase contract for the entire forest, and Guido Graf von Hochheim is registered as the buyer. Oliver wanted to sell, but his father Sepp didn't. Hochheim himself offered ever higher sums, he wanted to use the healing spring on the Garchingers property. He also claims to have set up a total of ten animal traps for wild boars in the forest. According to Hochheim, Garchinger senior finally wanted to sell his property for an additional black money payment of 100,000 euros, but three days later he asked for the same amount again. Hochheim Garchinger wanted to give this after the signature. Fitzner Sr. wanted to dispose of the toxic waste illegally stored by the Garchingers, the Hungarian hazardous waste landfill demanded 100,000 euros for it, but after they learned that the PCB was highly concentrated , they doubled their demand and the deal did not come off. The barrels with the toxic waste are finally found on Garchinger's property, the barrels have been stored there since an alleged lottery win in September 1996. Like her son Oliver, Sepp Garchinger's widow Gabriele also has cancer, she suffers from thyroid cancer .
The Doberman pinscher is caught in one of Hochheim's animal traps, but is not infected with rabies. Hannah Zeiler finds a connection to Dr. Daniel Sandrock from the Institute of Virology at the University of Marburg . Sandrock has been at a research station in the Arctic for six months , but Verena had an access card to Daniel's laboratory and was able to get rabies viruses. Since Sepp Garchinger was a diabetic , she was able to infect her father with the virus through the insulin pen after he told her about the poison barrels that caused her brother and mother's cancers.
