Judith Engel

Judith Engel (born November 15, 1969 in Potsdam ) is a German actress who works for the theater and film and occasionally acts as a speaker in radio plays.

Life

Judith Engel comes from a family of actors and completed her training at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . In 1990 she had her first engagement at the Renaissance Theater in Berlin. In 1991 she moved to the Schauspiel Frankfurt . From 1994 to 2000 she was a member of the ensemble of the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg under the directorship of Frank Baumbauer . In 1996 she stood in front of the camera for Dieter Wedel's The Shadow Man. From 2000 to 2004 she was engaged at the Zurich Schauspielhaus under the direction of Christoph Marthaler . Since then she has been working at the Schaubühne on Lehniner Platz in Berlin.

In 2001 Judith Engel was voted actress of the year by the trade journal Theater heute and was awarded the Nestroy Prize . In 2002 she received the Gertrud-Eysoldt-Ring for her interpretation of two female roles in the play Bash by Neil LaBute , directed by Peter Zadek at the Hamburger Kammerspiele .

In addition to her work at the theater, she took on episode roles in crime series such as Doppelter Einsatz , Das Duo , Stubbe , Der Elefant , Bella Block and Adelheid and their murderers and was seen in various Tatort episodes.
