Sona MacDonald
Sona MacDonald (born May 11, 1961 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actress , singer and dancer.
Life
Sona MacDonald was born to the American pianist Robert MacLaurin MacDonald (born March 10, 1930 - September 7, 2013) and the singer Ingrid MacDonald. She completed her training in London ( London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art ), Vienna and the USA . She has been working as a freelance artist since 1994. She has residences in Vienna and Berlin.
She played roles in musicals , including at the Berlin Theater des Westens . Engagements she had also at the Schiller Theater in Berlin and in the Residenz Theater in Munich . She also appeared in various film and television productions.
MacDonald is currently a member of the ensemble in the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna. With her son Skye MacDonald (* 1996) she played there in 2009 in the play Buddenbrooks . From 2013 to 2015 she appeared as Marlene Dietrich in Matthias Hartmann's production of Spatz and Engel at the Burgtheater . In 2015 she returned to the Salzburg Festival as Spelunkenjenny in Brecht / Weill's Threepenny Opera , where she made her debut in 1997 as Kascha in Peter Stein's production of Grillparzer Libussa .
