Traute Hoess (born May 24, 1950 in Weilheim in Oberbayern , Bavaria ) is a German actress .

Life

She plays in the theater as well as in cinema and TV productions. Hoess grew up in Pähl . She completed her acting training at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. She was a co-founder of the independent theater collective " Rote Rübe " and received her first permanent engagement at the Bremen Theater .

Engagements in Wuppertal , Basel and Munich followed. From 1984 to 1989 she worked again in Bremen, where she played the title character in Lysistrata and Marthe Schwerdtlein in Faust I and in 1988 Elisabeth in Don Carlos .

In 1990 she moved to Cologne , and in 1993 she followed Peter Palitzsch and Heiner Müller's call to the Berliner Ensemble . Here she played Betty Dullfeet in 1995 in The Rise of Arturo Ui . In 1995 Hoess went to the Schauspielhaus Bochum . From 2010 to 2012 she was a member of the Schauspiel Frankfurt ensemble. and then went back to the Berliner Ensemble.

In 2002 she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival as the wife in love of Danae . In 2014 she played there in the Andreas Kriegenburg production of Don Juan Comes from the War . In 2016 and 2017 she played Nell in the final at the Berliner Ensemble

She is married to Waldemar Kobus .
