Johann Adam Oest
Johann Adam Oest (born June 24, 1946 in Babenhausen , Hesse ; † April 30, 2019 in Vienna ) was a German actor who belonged to the Burgtheater ensemble.
Life
Oest trained as an actor at the Hamburg School of Drama . He then played at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and at the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen. Oest was a stage actor, but also worked in numerous films and TV series. He began his career at the Theater am Neumarkt in Zurich . Later he worked at the Grillo-Theater Essen and the Schauspielhaus Bochum as well as at the Salzburg Festival . From 1986 to 1999 and again since 2002 he was a member of the Burgtheater ensemble, where he took part in 68 productions in countless roles and worked with Claus Peymann , Andrea Breth , Luc Bondy , Manfred Karge , Michael Thalheimer and Herbert Fritsch , among others . On his 70th birthday, he was appointed chamber actor .
Johann Adam Oest last lived in Vienna , where he died at the end of April 2019 at the age of 72 after a long and serious illness.
