He deals in marijuana and is available for any flirt. At the suggestion of his communist grandfather, a former accountant, he also studies economics. Loan shark Frau Jahn tries to take power with her henchmen and terrorizes the district. The German economics student Valerie wants to write a university thesis on the “shadow economy in the European sub-proletariat” and chooses the “social hotspot of the Ösis”, Vienna's 16th district, as an object for her research. Together with Sammy and his friends, she forms an alliance against Ms. Jahn. In doing so, they discover an economic system from which everyone could benefit. They introduce a regional currency and print red “communist hundreds” from old schilling notes. A romance develops between Sammy and Valerie.
