Sophie Resch

Sophie Resch (born June 29, 1985 in Vienna ) is an Austrian film and theater actress.

Life

Resch grew up as the youngest of four children in Trautmannsdorf / Leitha (Lower Austria). After graduating from high school, she studied at the academy for speech therapy-phoniatric-audiological service in Vienna and graduated with honors in 2009. In addition, she took singing lessons at the Bruck / Leitha Music School and the Alsergrund Adult Education Center and five years of piano lessons at the Trautmannsdorf / Leitha Music School.

In 2010 she was accepted into the drama school Krauss and the ensemble of the Junge Burg ( Burgtheater Vienna ). During this time she played a. a. at the play Schmähsta d (director: Renate Aichinger ), which premiered in the vestibule. Then she got the offer to play the small role of "Philomena Beyer - the sepsis in the play" Professor Bernhardi (director: Dieter Giesing ) in the Burgtheater Vienna .

In 2012 Resch moved to Berlin and began to study at the Berlin drama school "Die Etage" School for Performing and Visual Arts Berlin. In addition to her acting studies, she took part in the lessons of the stage dance class and graduated in 2013 with excellent results. During this time she also became a member of the P14 Ensemble (youth ensemble of the Volksbühne Berlin ) and played in the play The Earth quakes. The earthquake in Chili (Director: Assaf Hamieri ).

Resch was also increasingly involved in dance performances and contemporary pieces in both Berlin and Vienna.

She has been represented by the Fürst agency since 2014 and has appeared in various Austrian films, series, music videos and short films.

In 2015 she became a member of the artist collective “The Silent Majority”. Together with 40 refugees, they realized the play Die Schutzbefohlenen (directed by Tina Leisch and Bernhard Dechant ) and were awarded the 2016 Nestroy Special Prize.

In September 2016 Resch made her debut at the Theater in der Josefstadt . She replaced the pregnant Martina Ebm and took on the role of the youngest daughter "Laura" in the play Monsieur Claude and his daughters (director: Folke Braband ).

Sophie Resch currently lives in Vienna and works as a freelance actress, speaker and singer.
