history

brut im Künstlerhaus (2013)

Since it was founded in 2007, brut has been hosting contemporary performance, dance and theater as well as lectures, discussions and workshops. The focus of the program is on cross-disciplinary art and the interconnection of pop-cultural and artistically advanced formats. The founding directors were Thomas Frank and Haiko Pfost , who jointly held the artistic direction until 2013 and were awarded the special prize of the Nestroy Theater Prize 2009 for the 2008/2009 season . From 2013 Thomas Frank was the sole artistic director.

From the 2015/16 season he was followed by Kira Kirsch , who was the leading dramaturge at steirischer herbst in Graz . Temporary venues outside the venue itself were conceptually designed by Kirsch from the start, which will benefit her from the 2017/18 season due to the renovation of the Künstlerhaus .
