Kira Kirsch

Kira Kirsch (born 1972 in Saarbrücken ) is a German dramaturge . Since 2015 she has been running brut Wien , a venue for the independent scene.

Life

She studied theater studies in Paris, Mainz, Glasgow and Berlin.

Professional stations were project management for the House of Architecture in Graz, dramaturgy and planning for the German festival Theater der Welt and the State Theater Swabia , recording management for the Saarland broadcasting company , event conception at BBK Berlin , further independent art and theater projects.

In 2005 she was one of the founders of the monothematic magazine BOB .

From 2007 to 2015 Kirsch worked at the contemporary art festival steirischer herbst in Graz. At first she worked as a dramaturge in the theater and performance sectors (and also responsible for the club concerts), from November 2012 she was the festival's chief dramaturge.

Together with Florian Malzacher , Anne Faucheret , Veronica Kaup-Hasler , Andreas R. Peternell and Johanna Rainer , she was co-editor of the 2014 reader Truth is Concrete. A Handbook for Artistic Strategies in Real Politics , dealing with politically engaged art and activism on an international level.

Since 2015 she has been the artistic director and managing director of brut Wien , a production and venue for the independent scene - Austrian and international - in theater , performance and dance . In May 2016, she made the theater available as a negotiating space for the capitalism tribunal. The tribunal was designed and organized by the Berlin project Haus Bartleby .
