Russian Railroads is a board game for two to four players by Helmut Ohley and Leonhard Orgler. The game was published in 2013 by Hans im Glück Verlag . It is based on the “worker placement” principle, in which the players in turn can distribute their available workforce on free fields in order to gain resources or other advantages. This game principle is also used in other games by the publisher, such as Stone Age or Egizia .

The theme and objective of the game

In Russian Railroad, players take on the roles of railway magnates in the late Empire. By employing manpower, building materials can be generated, new workers can be recruited and talented engineers can be hired. The aim of the game is to get more victory points by building the railway lines than any other player.

Extensions

In addition to the main game, the publisher released three expansions. The first expansion, The New Engineers, contains six new tiles and four new engineers. On the back there is an extension for Stone Age . The second extension has a larger scope and is called German Railroads . In addition to new engineering cards and game tiles, there is a new board on which German railway lines have to be built. In addition, the basic rules are expanded to include the "coal module" and a solo version. In addition, the American Railroads expansion appeared with American routes and the stock market.
